Its varieties:
Eureka – This variety of lemon is yellow in colour, with a surface that is slightly wrinkled, pitted, obviate to elliptical or oblong in shape and overall medium in size, with a rounded base, frequently necked, segments 9-10, pulp fine-grained, pale, greenish-yellow, juice abundant, very acid and has an excellent flavor.
Kagzi Kalan – The plants of the Kagzi Kalan variety are semi vigorous, low spreading, prolific bearer and starts bearing after three years of planting. The fruits are medium to large in size and are extremely juicy. Few seeds to seedless in nature. Suitable for processing.
Assam lemon (Nepali Oblong) – This variety of lemons are oblong to ovate, lemon yellow, apex nippled and rounded base, outer layer medium-thick, axis hollow, light yellow pulp and fine, juicy, good in flavour, seeds absent to a few. The fruits ripen during December-January.
Pant lemon-I – This variety is a selection of Kagzi Kalan Lemon. These are medium in size, round and smooth, thin outer layer, juicy, tolerant to canker, tristeza, and dieback. It is the best replacement for Kagzi Kalan.
